Why isn't my widget visible?

Troubleshoot why a widget isn't visible on your website

There are a few common reasons that can cause a widget to not be visible on your website:

  • The embed code isn't installed correctly
    • Check that the embed code is installed correctly into an HTML (in some cases Code or Embed) element, and the page is saved & published. The code can be found by clicking the Add to website button.
  • The caching of the widget isn't finished
    • The widget is cached when it's first loaded to optimize load speeds in the future. This might cause a short delay in the widget showing up on a website, but it shouldn't take more than a few minutes maximum.
  • The widget is not enabled
    • The widget is disabled in Trustmary. You can check this from the Widgets menu, where a red tag will show up on disabled widgets. Widgets can be enabled from the menu by clicking the three dots next to it, or from inside the widget editor by clicking the toggle in the top-right corner. Note that popup widgets are disabled by default, and you'll need to activate them before they are visible.
  • Popup targeting settings aren't correct
    • You can set popups to only be visible and trigger under certain conditions. Check the settings to see if the widget should be shown under the conditions you're testing in.

The widget can also be hidden if your widget view limit is reached, but in those cases you should see a banner in place of the widget informing you of this. You can read more about view limits here.
