Why is my widget not visible?
Issues with the widget not being displayed on your website can be caused by multiple factors. Here are a few common reasons that can cause issues like this:
The embed code isn't installed correctly
Check that the embed code is installed correctly into an HTML (in some cases Code or Embed) element, and the page is saved & published. The code can be found by clicking the Add to website button in the widget editor or the widgets menu.
Something is interfering with the widget
Plugins or add-ons installed on your website might interfere with other components. This is very common with Cookie Management and Caching plugins/apps. Here are a couple of the most common issues with these, and how to deal with them:
- Preventing Cookiebot from blocking your widgets
- Prevent LiteSpeed cache from affecting Trustmary URLs
The widget view limit is full
The widget can also be hidden if your widget view limit is reached, but in those cases you should see a banner in place of the widget informing you of this. You'll also receive multiple emails informing of the quota, and have a 72 hour grace period before the widget is hidden behind the banner.
The caching of the widget isn't finished
The widget is cached when it's first loaded to optimize load speeds in the future. This might cause a short delay in the widget showing up on a website, but it shouldn't take more than a few minutes maximum.
The widget is not enabled
The widget is disabled in Trustmary. You can check this from the Widgets menu, where a red tag will show up on disabled widgets. Widgets can be enabled from the menu by clicking the three dots next to it. Note that popup widgets are disabled by default, and you'll need to activate them before they are visible.
Popup targeting settings aren't correct
You can set popups to only be visible and trigger under certain conditions. Check the settings to see if the widget should be shown under the conditions you're testing in.
