How to integrate WooCommerce with Trustmary
How to Install the Trustmary WooCommerce Plugin
This guide walks you through installing and configuring the Trustmary Integration for WooCommerce. Once set up, customer data from completed orders is automatically synced to Trustmary, allowing you to trigger review requests and follow-up surveys without manual exports.
Before You Begin: Check the Requirements
First up, make sure your environment meets the minimum requirements before installing the plugin.
- Confirm your site is running WordPress 5.8 or later.
- Confirm WooCommerce 5.0 or later is installed and active.
- Confirm your server is running PHP 7.4 or later.
- Make sure you have an active Trustmary account (you'll need it to generate API credentials in a later step).
Install the Plugin in WordPress
Then we'll Install the plugin directly from the WordPress plugin directory.
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
- In the left-hand menu, navigate to Plugins → Add New.
- Type Trustmary into the search bar in the top-right corner.
- Locate Trustmary Integration for WooCommerce in the results.
- Click Install Now.
- Once installation finishes, click Activate.
Generate Your Trustmary API Key
You'll need an API key to connect your WooCommerce store to Trustmary, let's grab one from Trustmary settings.
- Open a new browser tab and sign in to your Trustmary account at app.trustmary.com.
- Go to Settings → Developers.
- Click Create a new API key.
- Copy the API key to your clipboard. Keep this tab open — you'll paste the key into WordPress in the next step.
Tip: Treat the API key like a password. Do not share it publicly or commit it to a code repository.
Connect the Plugin to Trustmary
Paste the API key into the plugin settings and verify the connection.
- Back in your WordPress dashboard, navigate to WooCommerce → Settings → Trustmary.
- Paste the API key you copied into the API key field.
- Click Test API connection to confirm the key works. You should see a success message.
- Click Fetch lists to load the contact lists available in your Trustmary account.
- Select one or more lists where new WooCommerce contacts should be synced.
Configure Send Triggers
Choose which WooCommerce events should send customer contact information to Trustmary.
- In the same settings page, scroll to the Send Triggers section.
- Select the order statuses that should trigger a contact sync (for example, Completed).
- Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
Verify the Integration Works
Now, let's confirm that data is flowing from WooCommerce to Trustmary before going live with the integration.
- Place a test order in your WooCommerce store.
- Update the order status to match one of your configured send triggers (for example, mark it as Completed).
- Open your Trustmary account and check the contact list you selected in Step 3.
- The customer's name and email address (and other data fields, if mapped) should appear in Trustmary within a few seconds.
If the test contact appears on your contact list or survey recipients, the integration is working correctly. If not, double-check the API key, your selected list/survey, and the order status trigger.
Summary
Once installed and configured, the plugin gives you automated survey requests that go out to customers as soon as an order is completed, which helps you collect reviews without lifting a finger. Displaying those verified reviews on your store also helps lift conversion, since shoppers trust real customer feedback. You no longer need to export customer data manually, as it flows from WooCommerce to Trustmary automatically. On top of that, you get real-time metrics in the form of feedback and reviews.
