Quick steps

1. Import your existing reviews. Add a short name for each connection.
2. Send out surveys for different locations/segments. Include the same short name as the segment when adding contacts for sending surveys.
3. Copy the embed code for a widget. Add the short name as a parameter in the embed code to have it display the chosen location/segment.
4. Embed the widget on the location/segment's page or site.
5. Repeat process, but add each unique short name in the same widget code for all your locations.

Introduction

Collecting and displaying reviews for a certain location or segment can be a hassle, but fear not, Trustmary is here to help!

Our solution for the problem are the segment and multi-location widget features. In a nutshell, this means you can tie your imported and collected reviews into one, and showcase them in their according places, without needing to create multiple separate widgets and manually filter reviews.

Let's take a look on how it's done.

Import existing reviews

Start by importing all existing reviews. If you haven't done this when signing up, you can do it in the Review Connections menu.

Once you've connected the review sources and got your imports going, you can set up a unique short name for each of your connections. In the example below, we've set it as tm-finland to mark our Finnish HQ's reviews. The process can the be repeated for all sources. You can use any URL-safe characters for the short name.

Collect more reviews

Now you're ready to use Trustmary's powerful surveys to easily collect new reviews for your different locations or segments. In this step you'll need a survey, and some contact data for which to send the survey. This data should also include the name of your segment, which should in turn match the short name you set on the review connection before. This way we can link the reviews you've imported, and the reviews you've collected to the correct widget.

Start this by going to the Surveys section in Trustmary, and either creating a survey or using an existing one. Remember to select **Email invitation **as the sharing method when creating a survey, or select it afterwards by clicking the three dot menu in the top right corner.

Once that's done, click on the Invite contacts button at the top right to invite people to answer the survey. Paste your contacts in the invitation window, or import via spreadsheet file. Remember to add a column for the segment filled with the corresponding short name!

Check that all the data has been selected correctly on the right, and click Confirm contacts at the bottom of the window.

Display reviews anywhere with a single widget

The final step is to use a single widget to display reviews (imported or collected) from all of your sources and segments.

Open a widget, and find the embed code by clicking on the Add to website button in the editor. Grab the embed code, and before embedding it, insert ?m=[shortname] into the code after the widget ID. The result should look something like this:

Now just make similar versions of the same embed code for all your locations or segments, and embed each code where you want them. Instead of creating individual widgets for each one, and maintaining them over the years, you can use a single widget, and automatically include all the correct reviews on it with just a small edit on the embed code.
